Our 8th Grade Visit gave incoming students a chance to see ROTC and explore the many extracurricular programs available at WHS. From performances to demonstrations, it was a great way to showcase our school community.
Special thanks to the Band, Color Guard, and Theatre program for helping make the day so fun and engaging! 🎶🎭
We can’t wait to welcome you next year!

Students from Wakulla High School recently participated in the annual essay contest sponsored by the Coastal Optimist Club. This year’s theme, “How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me,” invited students to reflect on the impact of service and community in essays of 700–800 words, with cash prizes awarded to the top entries.
🎉 Congratulations to our Wakulla High School winners:
🥇 1st Place: Tristen Hubbell, WHS sophomore, received $100 for her insightful and well-written essay that strongly reflected the contest theme.
🥈 2nd Place: Ashlyn Haynes, WHS sophomore, earned $75 for her thoughtful essay about how community is not only about involvement with others, but also about personal growth.
🥉 3rd Place: Scarlette Brown, WHS junior, received $50 for her well-constructed essay highlighting her wide range of community involvement.
We are proud of these students for sharing their voices and demonstrating what it means to serve and strengthen their community. 💙

Wakulla High School is proud to congratulate Junior Emily Zak as she prepares to attend and present at Ignite by 4-H, the national 4-H Teen Summit taking place March 25–29, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
Emily will be leading two sessions of her workshop, “The Power of the Youth Voice in Podcasting,” where she will share her work and inspire youth from across the nation to explore storytelling and communication through podcasting.
During the summit, Emily will also have the exciting opportunity to record a podcast interview with National 4-H CEO Jill Bramble, while participating in advanced leadership and skill-building sessions alongside teens from across the country.
Representing Wakulla High School and our community on a national stage is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so proud of the leadership and initiative Emily continues to demonstrate.
Good luck, Emily! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish.
