We were honored to welcome Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. and Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis to Wakulla High School as a part of their Keep Florida’s Future Bright initiative. Nearly 500 9th and 10th grade students had the opportunity to hear firsthand about the incredible opportunities available through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program — including eligibility requirements, scholarship tiers, and how to plan for a future in college or technical training. The visit inspired students to take ownership of their goals, rise to the challenge, and truly soar toward a bright future. #BrightFutures #KeepFloridasFutureBright #SOAR

This just in! The Florida Department of Corrections is hosting an event TODAY, Thursday, February 27th at the TSC Wakulla Center. The event would allow high school seniors or recent graduates to apply, fill out additional documentation, and interview on the spot. Although current high school seniors would not be eligible to begin employment until after they graduate in May, it is an opportunity to interview and begin the process to have it lined up to start in June. Pay begins at $22/hour and there are very few prerequisites to employment.
